Our neighborhood, Freedom Forest, is a great place to live. We enjoy sitting on our large front porch and watching all the dog walkers. Walking the neighborhood is a great way to visit with the neighbors as everyone takes their evening walk. There is an access trail to Liberty Reservoir for hiking, fishing and mountain biking. The leaves in the fall are beautiful shades of orange, red and yellow, but the many flowers in the spring let us know school will be ending soon and the children will be out to bike and play.
LIVING IN ELDERSBURG
Some of the things we love about Eldersburg are the small-town feel and easy access to historical downtown Sykesville with its fairs, festivals and farmer's market. There are numerous hiking trails and beautiful parks around town. The local high school offers class-act arts and championship sports. Some of our favorite restaurants in the area include Nora's Mediterranean, Mod Pizza and for a nice evening out Basta Pasta. The Cork makes for a wonderful Sunday brunch or happy hour out with friends. The grocery store we use is Martins, a high-end grocer with a Boar's Head deli, olive bar and all the comforts of an in-store bakery. We moved to Carroll County for serene country living with award-winning education. It offers a quiet lifestyle within easy commuting distance to many of the top employers in the region.
GREAT CARROLL COUNTY SCHOOLS
Our Carroll County schools are great! Liberty High School's marching band is one of the top in the state consistently receiving top honors at competitions. Liberty's athletics hold many state titles including Field Hockey and Boy's Cross Country. The Liberty High School football team had an undefeated regular season in 2018. In addition, Carroll Community College is a short 20-minute drive from Eldersburg.
