After the most recent episode of religious hatred resulting in death and destruction, a Rabbi I saw on television said what I was thinking.......talk is just talk. As long as actions do not change nothing will be different when we hear about the next tragedy. So I got to thinking that this certainly true in any venue or anything that happens with regularity. Life is complicated but at its core very simple.
I have lived in a small quaint town for seven years now. I like it for many reasons, not the least of which it is not much is different than it was 100 years ago. And then I ride somewhere in the car, listen to the radio and the world is back and it isn't one I recognize or like any more. I don't want great, I just want civil and kind, and thoughtful would be nice too.
