Should we keep the pink window treatments?

Real Estate Agent with Atlanta Communities 303302

In a recent meeting with some potential sellers, I was asked if they should keep the pink window treatments, in the pink room. Not just any pink, but a pepto-bismol pink. The color actually wasn't terrible, but it and the window treatments made the room look dated.

So, I offered to the sellers that if it were me, I would take down the window treatments and repaint the room in a neutral color. I then waited for the inevitable backlash from the sellers as to their love of the color and the fact that the treatments were from a long gone great grand mother. But nope, no backlash at all. They agreed readily. Just wanted confirmation from me.

I had a managing broker once that told me that if I needed to ask a question about how to do something, I probably already knew the answer. The confirmation is what I was looking for. I think she was right.

This confirmation along with gentle reminders to sellers about what things they can do to improve the marketability of their home is among the most important skill we as agents can provide our clients. This, along with accurate pricing help is where agents can really help our clients make the most for their home with the quickest sale time.

If you are looking for help to sell your home, give us at den Boer homes a call. We would be happy to consult with you to get you on the fast track to selling your home.

After black and white, which are not technically "colors," my favorite color is pink... but I do not decorate with it. And I've seen a few of those pepto-bismol pink rooms myself. Sellers always ask if they should paint... but they already do know they need to.

Hello Peter all pink, wow I would of mention they could repaint it a neutral color also.  Good choice.

You handled it very well, and most people would know that Pepto Bismol is not a color everyone appreciates.  A
