LICENSING MEANS PERMISSION

A license is a permission granted by an authority to do or perform according to set standards. If we take a licensed situation and compare it to an unlicensed one, what takes place? What thoughts occur and what questions should result when discussing to use a product or service that is licensed versus that which is not?

LICENSED TO KILL

Let's start with a little levity here. James Bond known as 007 in the field has a license to kill granted to him by his government. He cannot randomly go around doing this but only in the course of his duties. Great care must be taken when in other countries to not be careless or attract too much attention while going about this

LICENSED TO THRILL

This can be given to anyone who wishes to operate a fun or functional facility to the public consisting of different offerings and dynamics that met safety rules, inspections and representations. Look to Sea World, Disneyland & Universal Studios as examples as well as carnivals, circuses and festivals. Licensing is at work

WASTE REMOVAL SERVICES

Not only are these people required to be licensed but they also need further permission from City, County or State agencies to perform the license duties. Imagine there being no governing system for this? We would have contamination, disease and sickness that would threaten whole populations. Regulated via licensing

REAL ESTATE SALES

If one owns a piece of property they are given great latitude on what to do with it often referred to as a Fee simple holding. The owner is the Lord of the land subject to rules at large. In the buying, selling and investing of real property one is required to have license if performed for the public. Stakes are too high!

WHAT DOES LICENSING INFER?

It tells the public at large that this is an operation or service that has passed some sort of mustering, standard or bar & from there allows the consumer & the one providing the services/product to decide what happens next. The level of what takes place has been set by a licensing standard. However, it is not the end all

SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE

Just because someone or thing met the minimum requirements to operate (licensing) doesn't guarantee a result. Stop & think about this. It does imply heavily that it does specify a projected/expected result but that is up to the people & products being sampled as to what they say or do. Consumers have the last word

INSURING THE LICENSE!

To drive home and assure the public that there is more going on than permission, insurance/bonding dynamics were added to the licensing arenas. Bonded & Insured is a bold statement that takes licensing to new heights! This guarantees the consumer that it is even more safe to proceed and the public does just that

NON-LICENSED ACTIVITIES

Handyman? Street vendors? Do it yourselfers who perform for another? These examples and more can also perform results (or not) and it is up to the ones interacting to insure a positive end result. Gardeners come to mind as well. If one doesn't like the result they supply their own remedy. The interaction remains personal

LICENSED, WARRANTED and INSURED

These two words help to deliver not only promises to be made but allow the public to take little or no risk in proceeding with the product or service. If one has this they boldly state it and it pays for itself. This statement goes to work in the psyche first and then stands-by if needed

LICENSING UPS FIRST IMPRESSION CREDIBILITY

If someone is pitching their wares and lets say there is a doubt or a pause by the purchaser, the parting or thought in the moment is they are licensed! This gives the benefit of the doubt to the vendors/suppliers to promote a sale or conduct business. Licensing is a standard and the ordinary person at large respects this

 WHEN LICENSING DOESN'T MATTER (for the worse)

Licensing, bonding or insuring means nothing if the one important thing is not at work i.e. favorable first impression dynamics. The marketing rule of "people buy from people first" is no myth! In the end as well as the beginning, its what is behind it all and the what they do and how they do it that determines success
