Aurora, IL, the "City of Lights" had strong March, 2019 home sales. Being the 2nd largest city in IL and one of the most affordable cities it had the following sales in March for single family detached homes:
Homes Sold |
Days on Market |
Median Sales Price | |||||||
Town/City | 2019 | 2018 | % Dif | 2019 | 2018 | % Dif | 2019 | 2018 | % Dif |
Aurora | 131 | 117 | 12.00% | 84 | 66 | 27.3% | $218,000 | $229,000 | -4.80% |
Sales increased 12% from 2018's 117 to 131 closed transactions which is very positive. Yet there was an increase for
Days on Market of 27.3% and a drop of almost 5% in median sale price, is the market cooling in our area from a seller's market to a buyer's? Or is this just a seasonal slow down due to the crazy weather we had in March?
Aurora, IL continues to bring in new development to its downtown and as more people discover what a hidden gem it is prices will bounce back up as first time buyers are priced out of surrounding communities.
