Facebook Fridays - What's The One Thing You Would Change About FB?

~ Facebook Marketing Tips ~

I was part of a FB mastermind group recently where someone asked what would be the 1 thing you would change about FB if you had the power to change anything (short of eliminating it). What's the one thing you would you change about the platform?

For some of you I bet something came immediately to mind (do share). For others, it probably takes a few minutes to peel things back and identify 1 key thing worth changing. Maybe your list has more than 1 thing, that's ok to. What change(s) do you want to see?

Did you know...1.56 billion people log onto Facebook each day!

I often get asked why I do not showcase personal profiles on Facebook Fridays (I have made 1 exception over the years). I only promote business pages because I want you and I to stay on the right side of Facebook's Terms Of Service (biz should be done on biz pages). Perhaps they will never enforce all their rules but there is no sense in tempting fate. Now you know.

PLEASE stop by the 5 Facebook Business Pages below, LIKE their page, and leave a comment, just like Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD do with Youtube Thursdays. It is always nice to reciprocate, so if you are visited, please take a moment and return the favor.

As always, enjoy Rainers!

Amen to that Andrea! The newsfeed is probably on many lists.

Nina: It is incredibly annoying and I wish they would loosen controls.

Hi Anita,
Thank you so much for highlighting my new Facebook Page!!!  I really appreciate it.

Happy to help, Carol. Support is hard to find on the platform, that is for sure.

Grant: That is definitely a common complaint and rightly so.

It isn't directly real estate related, but they are sensoring content based on political judgements they make. Not worth anymore time invested if they are going to want to influence political opinions.

You bring up a good point, Jon. It seems a lot of social media sites sway one way or the other and users are the ones affected.

My wish for FB and the Internet in general is they have more control over "trolls" and can eliminate them quickly. Other than that, I agree with the above suggestions.

Somethings about FB I am not thrill about, to many weird people trying to friend others and then taking advantage of them.

Real Estate in the 21st Century!

Hi Anita Clark.  I would also have to say it is the control they have over what I get to see via my feed. I feel like I see the same few people posting constantly and miss the posts from a bunch of others who I'd like to know more about what they're up to.

It is discouraging for FB to control who sees my posts, and limits them.

It makes reaching people more difficult.

The Real estate social network

Facebook is not a social network anymore. It is an ad platfom for those who have big money to spend to get exposure. Many businesses built their future there and once Facebook changed the news feed algorithm, all of these businesses followers collapse. In my opinion it is a waste of time for many real estate agents, as Facebook was not built for real estate. Many facebook users hate to see sponsored ads in their news feed.It is a boring platform with really no interesting content.

Greg: That sentiment is echoed by many.

And it is done with a purpose, John. Drive users to use ads.

HOMEiZ: An interesting spin. The post and forget it approach is definitely a waste of time (IMHO) and that is exactly what many agents do. A small ad budget helps but, you are right, posting the same old stuff can make things boring. What kind of content would you like to see?

What can we do for you today?

Thank you for sharing this post. Facebook used to work very well and folks responded. Not so much these days, they just ask questions and never click on the post link. Fish and at least get a few bites here and there or no fishing at all and no knock on the hook of life. Your choice and your funds.

That has got to be the #1 complaint. Thanks for the input, Jeff.

Laura: If they are asking questions, and you are responding quickly, you are half way there. Engagement is so important, especially getting followers to initiate it.
