Fresh meal delivery. Healthy dinners. Farm to table. There are a multitude of meal delivery options available nowadays, designed to save time, promote a healthier way of life and home-cooked meals.
Did you know that Howard County offers its residents its very own version of fresh meal kits to go? Have you heard about the Roving Radish? It's an affordable program with ingredients sourced from local and regional farms, designed to connect the community, and to promote farm-to-table healthy eating habits. This week is kick-off week - the first meal kit orders are ready for pick-up, and the program continues through the end of November.
Howard County does not deliver the meal kits to your doorstep but offers 8 convenient pick-up locations on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday afternoon:
- Columbia: Ascend One Building, HoCo General Hospital, Oakland Mills Community Center, Florence Bain Center
- Elkridge: Elkridge Branch Library
- Ellicott City: George Howard Building
- Glenwood: Old Bushy Park Elementary School
- Savage: Savage Branch Library
Meal kits can be ordered online - you can order just one week or all. Each kit (standard or vegetarian) includes two healthy meals for four people, two recipes, produce (all prepped and ready to go), proteins, and spices.
The cost for each meal kit - that is TWO dinners for FOUR people - is only $38!!
