We don't necessarily need to look too far or go too deep to find examples of wishful thinking. Examples are seemingly all around us. Maybe it's more noticeable at the beginning of the year with resolutions of getting in better shape, being less this/more that or eliminating bad habits. It exists in many other circumstances too.
for example: the student who doesn't study throughout the school term who wants to achieve a passing grade. Yeah, that's wishful thinking. For sure. Maybe it's the unrealistic seller who has visions of a lofty price when the current market suggests otherwise. To my knowledge the real life stories of frogs and members of royalty are quite rare. You can likely cite your own experiences. Personal and professional. They are certainly plentiful. Wishful thinking was on my mind. And as I pondered the words of others reminded me that yes, wishful thinking is actively "at work".
Physical fitness can neither be acquired by wishful thinking nor by outright purchase
Stop the habit of wishful thinking and start the habit of thoughtful wishes
Wishful thinking is not sound public policy
