It’s amazing how fast kitchens can get messy, especially after meals. You may have a clean kitchen the entire day but once the meal preparation process begins, your kitchen will be upside down even before you’ve blinked twice. The kitchen is the center of any home and you can’t afford to ignore it. Forget to clean up for a day or two and suddenly you have no sink to use, your counter has stains and spills, there’s a thick layer of crumbs coating your floor and you just can’t cook anything. Here are a few tips on how to keep kitchen clean daily.

How to Keep Kitchen Clean Daily - What to Do

The trick is to come up with a daily cleaning routine that will help you keep the kitchen spotless with minimal effort. If you have others around, consider tasking them with small tasks they love to do. You can come up with a list of areas that are important to you and that will help you to establish your daily routine.

Empty the Dishwasher

Every morning, spare about four to five minutes to empty the dishwasher. You can even do this while sipping your favorite cup of coffee. The trick is to fill your dishwasher with items from the day before, run it overnight and empty it in the morning as you start your new day. If you don’t have a dishwasher, wash all items and place them in your drying rack.
Once you’re done with breakfast, wipe counters down and place any dishes you’ve used in the dishwasher. Alternatively, hand wash the dishes and place them on a drying rack. Finally, rinse shine your sink before stepping out for your big day.
Whenever everyone gets home from school or work, empty the garbage and place any containers directly into the dishwasher. Leaving anything out will only pile them up so try to make this a daily routine. Similarly, if you don’t have a dishwasher, hand wash the containers right then.

After Dinner

After having your evening meal, place all dishes in the dishwasher or hand wash pots, pans, and dishes. If something needs soaking, soak it while you’re having dinner. Alternatively, you can soak while cleaning everything else and wash the soaked pot or pan last before cleaning your sink. Save water and energy costs by setting your dishwasher to run overnight. But if you don’t have enough dishes in the dishwasher, wait until you have enough to run a full cycle.

Cleaning Your Counters

Use an all-purpose disinfecting spray and a cloth to wipe counters down. You can also do a quick spot-check for fingerprints in cupboard fronts and door knobs. You also want to include your stove top and appliances in the wipe down as they can easily succumb to prints.

When coming up with a plan, make sure it’s comfortable for you and your lifestyle. Don’t overthink it and leave room for changes. Follow these tips on how to keep kitchen clean daily and your cooking area will sparkle without a hassle.
