My beloved old Mercedes is in the shop. It has been there since last Wednesday when I drove to Connecticut to try get enough miles on it to get it re-inspected for emissions. The car sat all winter and apparently it needs something to trigger before it will pass. On my way back to my shop to check, the check engine light came on. The last time this happened I needed a manifold which I came to find out was an engine part and in the thousands.
I bought another car a couple of years ago which I use to cart things around for my antique space. It is an Audi Q5 and it is a hybrid. It will be going for inspection in June and G-d willing I won't experience the same thing.
I am not a patient person. Having a second vehicle takes the pressure off and gives me the ability to move around and live until the auto is ready. So that's the reason I have two cars.
