My old Mercedes is still in the shop. It has been there eight days now. It sat for the better part of the winter without being driven and the emissions failed. I was told to drive it a hundred miles for the system to kick in and cure it. I drove more than that and then the check engine light came on. I took the car to my place and it has now been quite the puzzle. If I didn't have a second car I would be a loon. Maybe today. Some frustrations just abide.

Hi Sheila- I feel your pain. And as the others have said, thank goodness you have a second car. I can handle most daily glitches but not with cars or computers.

Oh dear, sorry to hear this Sheila. I found out yesterday, the temporary sink we  were told they were going to install in our kitchen ( we are going through a remodel ) can't happen because we are getting a farm sink. The counter folks won't be here to measure for two weeks, and then it takes two more weeks to get it installed. Long story short, we'll be without a sink and dishwasher for four more weeks.  Argh!  It's very difficult to be without the things we rely on daily. ( Like a beloved car)

Hi Debe. I don't expect to see mine before Wednesday. I won't take it until it has passed inspection period. Each time they correct and reset it, it requires another 150 miles to take for inspection purposes. I know I am in at leat 4 figures so I am simply resigned. TY      Sheila

OMG, don't you hate paying those bills too - they are just outrageous! That's what we get for buying luxury cars but, I wouldn't have it any other way. If we didn't drive them until the wheels fall off, we probably would never have to experience crazy issues that come with an older model either!

Good luck getting yours back on Wednesday! I am hopeful we both have ours back by Wednesday!

Something with the oil filter stand gasket and the oil cooler gasket. I got those replaced and then some oil cap cracked and my alert came on saying my oil was 'critically low' (and it had just been changed with the new gaskets)!

I really am not sure but, like you, I do trust my service guys. They're not the dealership so, they're about 1/2 the cost but, it always still seems high to me.
