3 steps to ensure good indexing in Google and Bing
1. What is indexing?
Google robots, also known as GoogleBots or spiders from Google, are dedicated to periodically track websites and identify each of the URLs that are a part of them. This is what is commonly known on the internet as crawling.
As managers of a web page or blog, we are interested in facilitating the analysis of our page to the robots of Google and the other search engines, in order that they are able to reach and recognize each of the URLs that make up our site.
In short, the indexing is the result of Google's recognition of a URL, which occurs at the moment when the robots detect and recognize each of the elements of the individual web page and download them into the database of their search engine.
2. Why is it so important to be indexed?
For a page to appear in the search results (SERP - Search Engine Results Page) it is absolutely essential to be indexed by Google. That's why we should try to allow GoogleBots to track the URLs that interest us (pages under construction or other URLs such as Thank You Pages may be kept invisible to robots or spiders).
Once a URL is indexed, we will have to start other actions to try to position it as high as possible. But if it is not indexed there is nothing to do, since in the eyes of Google such a URL will not exist and, consequently, will never appear in the results pages after a search done by users. In order to get a specific page indexed in Google, there is a process you can use to submit your website to Google.

Google's crawling process begins with a list of web page URLs generated from previous crawling processes, and is expanded with the data from the sitemaps offered by the webmasters.
Issues that we should consider
To understand the ways Google spiders work, we must keep in mind the following points:
- Google's goal is to track as many pages of your site as possible on each visit without collapsing the bandwidth of the server. Keep in mind that you can request that the tracking frequency of your website be modified.
- When we publish a post, the normal thing is that it is not indexed at the moment; it will take a few hours or even several days to be indexed, depending on when the robots get to crawl your page.
- Normally, in an interval of 24-72 hours, the Google robot already indexes your blog. You have the option of consulting through Search Console the frequency of the robots passing through your website.
- A recommendation for your posts to be indexed more quickly is when you create a link from your homepage directly to the post you want to be indexed faster
- When you are starting a blog, it is unlikely that you have good authority, so Google will take more time to crawl your website and with lower frequency
- There is no exact way to know exactly how many hours or days a URL takes to be indexed. But it is known that the best way to streamline the process is to send all the URLs directly to Google for processing using a sitemap.
Steps to optimize in Google
The first step when performing an indexing analysis would be to run the site through Google’s search engine. This will give us an approximate view of the number of indexed URLs on our website and can help us to get an idea of the status of our website in terms of indexing.
To check which URLs are indexed we can put "site: domain of your website" into Google. If it appears as a result in Google, it is already indexed, and if it does not appear it means that it is not yet.
In case it’s not indexed, try registering your website in Google Search Console and submit your sitemap there. You can even use the URL Inspection Tool to manually submit individual URLs for Google to index
