After filling up my car with gas this morning, the pump failed to print out a receipt. I walked into the small shop and asked the attendant for a copy of it. He smiled a warm smile and said that only pump numbers 3, 5, and 6 had broken printers. If I avoided those in the future, I’d always get a receipt.
“Thanks for the tip,” I smiled at him in return.
“Oh, it’s no trouble. I want you to know the truth, for if I tell a lie, I have to tell one hundred more.”
What a smart man. Though it’s sometimes uncomfortable to tell the truth, in the long run it’s much easier. You have nothing to cover up, no need to try to remember what story you told to which person. One truth remains one truth, but one lie can lead to a hundred more.
Look for the wisdom that comes your way today and may it be a day of great success.
