Branding Moments: Another Outstanding Packaging!

If you have followed our posts on branding, you no doubt remember that we usually feature the Veuve-Cliquot creative packaging as they hit the market place.  In 2017, we featured this one pictured above.

This past week in Paris, we found their latest and most interesting packaging pictured above. Champagne in a squeeze tube format is an unusual concept.  What do you all think?

Good morning, Alexandra and Ron - like Nina Hollander I looked at the photo a couple of times.  I kept thinking of "okay, is it time for a slogan contest?".  Thank you for sharing the photo and we'll see when/if it hits the shelves on this side of the pond.

Nina Hollander One just lifts the Tube cover, and the bottle ix the same as it always has been.  It rests on what looks like a cap.  I should have taken the tube part of...

When we get back, I will check to see if it is n the US.  Funny how it did not translate as a mere cover for the bottle...nothing to squeeze, and it rests on a cap.  I should have removed the top and photographed it!

Admittedly, I was confused too. Couldn't figure out why you'd want to squeeze champagne out of a tube. Lol. It obviously has us thinking and discussing the design. It prompted me to Google it...here's what I learned. First of all, the tube is mimicking an artist's tube of paint...

"Veuve Clicquot celebrates with its limited edition in the look of a paint tube in the signature bright yellow color that reflects the joy of the life and the house of Veuve Clicquot. This special gift wrap in the form of a color tube keeps the bottle cool for up to 2 hours and is therefore a must-have for this summer. I went from finding it "interesting," to loving it.   D

Still seems somewhat confusing to me, Alexandra. Somehow the idea of something that looks like a hand cream actually being champagne doesn't resonate with me.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD I am so appreciative that you took the time to look it up on Google and quote the Veuve contingent. I liked it for its cleverness and did not even think of doing that, let alone ask the store clerks about it.  I have loved some of the packaging more than the others.

Based on the comments, very few loved it at first sight.  Which makes me think that perhaps the brand story should have been explained maybe with an attached tag...

Well at first it looks kind of strange - champange in a tube but looking further I see the other bottles and assumed this was a clever cover for the champagne. Still, not sure I'd be attracted to buying it. Might be interesting for a gift!
