Carlsbad's TGIF Concerts in the Parks Series Starts June 21, 2019
Summer starts June 21, and coincidentally so do the annual TGIF Concerts in the Parks.
No doubt for many Carlsbadians the free TGIF Concerts in the Parks are a highlight of summertime in Carlsbad, other than time at the beach. Indeed this outdoor concert series may very well be the best entertainment option around North San Diego County!
You can’t go wrong with a winning combination of great music, in one of our beautiful Carlsbad parks, on a Friday summer evening. And they’re FREE!! It doesn’t get much better than that!
2019 will be the 34th season of Carlsbad’s popular TGIF Concerts in the Parks series, as always presented by the City of Carlsbad’s Cultural Arts Office. The TGIF concerts take place on 9 consecutive Friday nights in 4 of Carlsbad’s largest community parks.
Not surprisingly, the TGIF Concerts in the Parks are popular with visitors and residents and have been for years. You can expect a couple thousand people dining al fresco, a sea of blankets and low-back chairs, lots of kids, plenty of dancing, and terrific live music in a wide range of styles.
The concerts begin at 6 and run til 8 pm or so, with intermission typically around 7 pm when they raffle off lots of really cool prizes – I personally have never won but they sure sound great!! Funds raised from the weekly raffles support various arts programs in Carlsbad.

Because these concerts get crowded it’s a good idea to arrive early (venues open at 4) to find the best parking in the local neighborhoods and great seats up front. Unless you are real early you can expect to walk a distance. Perhaps I’ll see you there!!
Here’s the information on parking and free shuttles. You’ll find signage for the shuttles when you arrive at the park. Shuttles run from 4:30 until 9 pm.
