Gallup Survey Results

Gallup Investment Survey Results. American's opinion of top asset classes for long term investments.

  1. Inflation is low, so gold at 14% is understandable, savings at 15% is questionable since interest rates have been so low for so long.
  2. Are respondents considering their 401(k) for example as "stocks," even though investment plans are usually diversified into many asset classes?
  3. As per real estate, are respondents referring to primary residence or income property?

    More questions than answers.

You know what they say and personal-finance about saving 15% to 20%. 15% is in good standing even in that case.

You make a good point about 401(k)s being that way and so I don’t think people understand that diversified assets are fairly safe.

Paul, I have always been a big believer if you invest in real estate, it will give you a larger nest egg.
