There is no time that it is not fitting to remember...be grateful ....show appreciation for the men and women  who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Vietnam War. If you were not aware before...let us show and tell you about "The Moving Wall." There are two half size replicas of the wall that it is in Washington D.C. that travel the country fron April thru November.

Their tour/appearances are frequently sponsored by local civic organizations or groups of individuals who agree to make the necessary local arrangements to showcase the memorial on its visit to the area.

Vietnam wall

The city of Greenfield Wisconsin is the first city in  Milwaukee county to host a display of the wall.

The display is open 24 hours a day at Konkel Park, 5151 West Layton Avenue. The opening ceremony which is free and open to the pyblic, is scheduled for 1 pm on Friday, May24. The ceremony will have participation by Junior Reserve officers Training Corps  (ROTC) Cadets from Greefield High School as well as local  Vietnam Veterans.

If you would like the opportunity to see the wall, pay your respects to the more than 58,000 men and women who gave their all...and perhaps see the name or names of people you knew who made the ultimate sacrifice, click HERE to see the schedule of where the wall will be for the remainder of the year.

Take a moment now...close your eyes....know that there are parents, flag thank youwives, husbands and children who miss each of those people...it is so much more than columns of names...it is a monument of sacrifice...and we are forever grateful for theirs...for us.

With gratitude, SallyK. & David L. Hanson, Broker Associates with EXP Realty honored to be of service in southeastern Wisconsin.

Nice post about this moving memorial, Sally and David. I saw this moving memorial a number of years ago and was extremely touch. However, even that didn't prepare me for the Memorial on the mall in DC. What a profound statement it makes.

A few years ago we were in D.C. and actually walked along the wall.  It is truly a sobering moment

This is a good shoutout for the traveling memorial wall. There are so many who have sacrificed their lives; we need to remember that.

Good morning, Sally and David... I had no idea about this travelling memorial. Need to see if it's coming to the Charlotte area. I've been to the wall several time in Washington DC and consider it the most moving memorial I've seen anywhere in the world. I can never keep from crying when I'm there.

Looks like it will be closest to me in August, but still a 2 1/2 hour drive from me.  Not sure if I will make the trip or not, but I will consider it.

I have been and it took my breath away.

I searched and found the name of the young man who lived across the street from us when I was a kid. Danny Erlandson. I didn't really know him...I was friends with his younger sister. I remember when we heard about his death.

Tears down my cheek when I saw his name on the wall.

Sally and David- we have had the honor of seeing the Wall when we lived in the DC area. Each time was a moving experience and I hope that every American will get the opportunity to see the Wall itself or the Traveling Memorial.
