Memorial Day: All gave some and some gave all!!

Memorial Day: is all about remembering those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. I have written many a post over the years about this subject.

One thing always has annoyed me when so many people confuse Memorial Day with Veterans Day. There is a huge difference,’ Memorial Day’ is remembering   those  soldiers who gave it ALL,  in other words, their lives, just so we can enjoy our freedom.

Clearly, I do not like it when people think it is about eating burgers, and barbequing. Equally I do not like it when people who think they are being gracious by saying to  veterans “Thank You”! Thank them on Veterans Day! Recognize the difference between the two Federal Holidays is a much more meaningful way of thanking them.

So if you want to give true thanks and meaning to this holiday, please educate your children and those who do not know the difference.  Most of all do not wish any one “Happy Memorial Day” it is supposed to be a somber time to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Anyway, hope you will have a relaxing Memorial Day Weekend with friends and family and spread the word. This is just one man’s opinion who happened to luck out and did not have to give the “ultimate sacrifice” for his country. Greatfully is living with his pets and their care taker....
