Two Reasons Why You May Not Be Getting Any Showings
How come my house isn’t getting any showings??
Real Estate agents get this question all of the time. So do Home Stagers.
You know that Price, Location, and Condition are key to getting your home sold. Your location is what it is and hopefully, you’ve listened to your agent and listed your home at what the market will bear NOT what you think you should get.
But, keep in mind that buyers are visual. They buy based on what they can see. And if they can’t SEE your house, this may be why you’re not getting any showings.
There are two reasons why no one may be looking at your house...
1.Your MLS presence.
Today’s buyers begin their search on the internet. You’ve probably done this yourself.
Try this yourself...go to the internet and look at MLS listings in your area. Which ones call out to you to want to see? And conversely...which ones do you just move right on by?
Look at your listing! What you see is what your potential buyers will see.
If you have only a few pictures or if your photos don’t do your house justice, then this may be why you don’t have the number of viewings that you want. No one is going to scroll down to read the description unless the photos get them to want to see more.
Work with your agent and Home Stager to make sure that you’re doing everything you can to make sure that your home shows well in-person and on the internet.
And, before you hire your agent, look at a sample of the listings they have on the internet. How are their current properties being marketed?
2. Buyers actually can’t see your house.
Have those beautiful bushes and trees that you planted grown so tall that you can no longer see the house behind them? Curb appeal does make a difference, and buyers have been known to drive away from a property because of the curb appeal- or lack of it.
While you are preparing your house for sale, don’t neglect the exterior. Drive by it, stand across the street from it… get a clear idea of what potential buyers are (or aren’t) seeing.
Sellers...if your house is getting little to no showings, check out how it appears to prospective buyers!
They may not be able to see it!
