Ferdinand Phillippe

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with Fathom Realty PB00068179

Ferdinand Phillippe was born in Moislains, Somme, France back in 1824. Sorry I don’t have much information about him until 1858. In that year, he invented something that was the mainstay until the early 1900’s.

Because this one is going to be short, very short he died in 1900, he was 75.

What you may not know about Ferdinand Phillippe Edouard Carre´ is that he back in 1858 invented the refrigeration equipment used to produce ice. It was able to produce about 440 pounds of ice per hour. It was used aboard ships allowing them to ship frozen meat on an intercontinental trip.

Good morning James. Ferdinand is my hero for inventing the ice machine. Ice Tea is a favorite! And, so are some adult libations. Enjoy your day!

What a great contribution he made James Dray . Imagine the price of some foods had he not come up with his invention.

Short and sweet, just the way that I like it, haha.  Such an important invention, we use a lot of ice in today's world.

Funny how we take some things for granted like "ice".  Thanks for another great bit of information.  A

The great thing about inventors is they see a problem & find a way to remedy that problem. Ferdinand did more than solve a problem, he opened up opportunities.
