Anita Clark thanks, Anita. It always amazes me how many home owners neglect the maintenance of their homes and then wonder why the inspection reports have so many issues noted on them when they sell.
I did many of these last weekend Nina Hollander It is one of those things where home owners need to make time.

Hi Nina,
There's always plenty to do as a homeowner and a maintenance schedule is a great idea. I like the "Make vacation arrangements" suggestion best. ![]()

Ron and Alexandra Seigel hi Alexandra... I don't think I've ever felt a year move as quickly as this one has thus far. It's really scary to think about sometimes.
Roy Kelley thanks, Roy. Wishing you and Dolores a lovely weekend to come, as well!
Hello Nina - regardless of the season involved, cleaning is a part of a regular maintenance checklist that makes a lot of sense in the proper care of your home.

Nice list Nina Hollander - I often think of monsoon season and what I need to do BUT I have the fireplace flue open and need to close it. I usually put a small streamer on it when it is closed so I know that I have to open it before lighting a fire.

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® hi Sheri... don't think I've ever given any thought to monsoon season... but I know you do. That's a great suggestion on how to remember if a flue is closed.
Nina that is a good list. I am going to give it to my wife and tell her that is what she needs this month ![]()

Hi Nina:
This is an excellent list of maintenance items. Seems like there is always something to do as a homeowner, but not taking care of issues leads to further problems!

George Souto good morning, George... your comment really cracked me up today. I have a feeling if you give this list to your wife, it will quickly get turned around into a honey-do list for you!
Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 hi Sheila... the biggest part of my spring list --pressure washing my porches, steps and walkways-- was done last week. A/C's, fireplace, sprinkler system and water heater were serviced late last month. And I keep no screens on my windows... they are still in the box they came in when we built out house 13 years ago. One big last task... switching out my closet to my summer wardrobe... been putting it off for a few weeks, but need to get it done this week.
Rebecca Gaujot, Realtor® hi Rebecca... we were ahead of the game and had most everything that pertains to our home done by end of May. All that's left for me is to switch out my closet for summer clothes... and I've been avoiding that for a couple of weeks now.

I switch out my closet for summer clothes a month ago. I don't like doing this but did get rid of a few things.
Jeff Dowler, CRS hi Jeff.. for sure, a home ower's work is never done! I learned a long time ago to "farm out" all those things we can't do ourselves, so all our mechanicals, sprinklers, fireplace are scheduled for service twice a year and our people who service us call twice a year and make an appointment. My trusty handiman did the pressure washing last week.
You have probably helped thousands of people with your checklist and I thank you for sharing Nina Hollander

Mary Hutchison, SRES, ABR hi Mary... home maintenance never does end. I clean the insides of my windows each time I wash curtains... about twice a year. And once a year, also typically in spring, I have someone come and do the exterior.
Hi Nina- great checklist for June. I wouldn't have thought about closing the flue.

Kathy Streib hi Kathy... most of our newer homes have on flue as they are without chimneys... but for those who have a real chimney this is something good to remember.

Jan Green hi Jan... I've found this to be true, myself, that people ignore home maintenance until after an inspection report and then it costs them more to fix things that could have been maintained for way less cost.
