Wordless Wednesdays: Hand washing Process...

Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices 01238708

I was on my way to a listing appointment and was aware that my gas tank was low and would be a challenge to get home.  So with that said, I decided to stop in and might as well stop and use the facilities. When I saw this picture I had to share.

When I was growing up, my parents educated me about personal hygiene, I did not need a photographic instruction what to do after I used the facilities. This made me pause, as a society are we that bad that we can not educate our children who will be adults sooner than expected ...do they need to have a step by step instruction to wash their hands???  What are your thoughts?

Oh my. It even talks about using a "one-use" paper towel. Duh. Totally unnecessary in my mind. The people who already wash their hands will roll their eyes and the ones that don't, still won't.

My thoughts, Endre... (a) I guess it couldn't hurt; (b) the dumbing down of America.

Good morning, Endre Barath, Jr. the thought of not washing your hands is disgusting.... children MUST be taught.... the adults who were NOT taught are pathetic.

Things like this should definitely be learned in the home at a young age, but I also think it isn't a bad idea to have it reinforced in other places.

Hi Endre Barath, Jr., I have seen many leave the restroom without washing their hands. I carry wet naps with me just to handle the door etc Obviously, some people don't know how or even they should wash their hands.

You are right, no doubt this was thought up by an attorney to prevent perceived law suit potentials.  It reminds me of the baby changing table at Norstrom's that says, please use the safety strap when you change the diapers!  A

Hi Endre Barath, Jr. - Anyone who needs instruction on how to wash their hands probably can't read that chart and are probably wondering what the pics actually mean. Sometimes I really wonder...

Hi Endre, I agree, habits like this are supposed to be cultivated at an early age at home.

I saw advice on using only one paper towel to dry your hands, with step by step instructions how to dry your hands with one paper towel only. That was a good idea to conserve resources - the source was refernced, too - a Ted talk.

Too many people can't read these days because they won't sit still in class to listen and learn...because teachers' hands are tied and cannot discipline children and...heaven forbid they hold them back a grade because they didn't learn...and so it goes. They need visuals since they can't read.

SUCH a sad state of affairs, isn't it, Endre?!

Oh boy, you would think we would have this one figured out at a fairly young age. And, I'm with Joe Pryer, I see far too many women skip the handwashing after using the restrooms at airports. Ugh.
