Say Something Nice.............

By
Real Estate Agent with Ventura Property Shoppe

I've always stuck to real estate, for the most part, when writing blog postings.  After thinking about it, I think it applies, so here goes;

Isn't it true when someone says something derogatory about someone else that you tend to dismiss some of the other things they've said?  Especially if this person is repeating nasty rumors, their integrity is in question with you.  So, even if they've said intelligent, thought provoking things in the past, you may discount them becasue of the source.  Grandma always said to Say something nice, or don't say anything at all.  I think she was a pretty smart woman.  One who credited her fellow human beings for having a mind of their own.  Something to keep in mind during our daily communications, not to mention, the very heated political climate we find ourselves in.

I'd like to think that we choose who and what to support based on a very deep committment to our beliefs - not a hatred and mistrust of the oposition.

I like the way you think. I guess in our business, in life generally, but in our business we deal a lot with reject and people not always being the nicest. Like you i do dismiss the things people say but when dealing with a lot of volume and a lot stress it sometimes does get to you. great post remindes us all to stay positive.

I agree. I must admit, I've gotten sucked into reading some of the non-real estate debates here on AR and have had to fight not to join in. I don't want to be seen as argumentative or uncooperative on such a valuable network. I'll just stick to saying nice things when I comment!

Hey, Hope. I agree with you and your grandma. It not only hurts the person that you are speaking ill of, but yourself as well. Thanks and have a great weekend, Jim

Hope, Well stated.  I do my best to encourage people and say nice things but I do find myself saying helpful things sometimes that may not read nice.  However, if I were talking to tyhe person he/she would probably interpet it differently.  I guess I need to learn to write nice also.  Thank you for the thoughts.
