Mt. Arvon located in L'anse Township in Michigan's upper peninsula, is the highest natural point in the state of Michigan. I was there a couple days ago, hiked to the top, and then snapped this picture. Quite a view!
In truth, this whole area between Scandia and Big Bay is one of the greatest treasures in the UP. You won't find much development just the last bastions of wilderness; ahh. There are also a few large private plots such as those owned by the Huron Mountain Lodge and Granite Loma. World class trout streams, miles upon miles of forest, lake superior, and yes, a Nickel Mine (some would rather it not be there).
