I live in a really old house. I have triple windows in an area off my galley kitchen. The two on either side crank open, but the center one is stationery. I noticed on Sunday after coming home from a long work day. that the center one was shattered and it had a hole in it that looked like it came from a bullet or BB gun. It is always something.
So I began calling around to see if I could get it replaced or a new pane installed. Of the eight I called, only two spoke to me. One was no longer in business and many.......couldn't get to me until after labor day. Why......they had seasonal owners to attend to. Excuse me!!!!!
Why anyone would choose to focus on folks only here two months a year made no sense to me, but I must be different. I guess the thinking was these folks would pay more. In any event I finally found someone who will at least come and take a look. I knew the woman was real when she spoke about condensation between the panes being a real possibility. That's when my Realtor head checked in. I had a wonderful guy in NJ who often fixed rather than replaced panes and sealed them really well. He was always busy.
So waiting on this guy later. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
