Too much of a "talking head" does make your mind go to other places...shorter...more variety....longer attention...good recipe for success !

Good morning again Debb. I did lose interest after about 45 seconds. I think it was just too long.

Nina Hollander - what? You're perfect for video. :)
Hi there Sally K. & David L. Hanson exactly. He gets a lot of views for these videos too. Imagine if he got rid of the tune-out factor.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD I've been seriously camera shy since I was tot! Hate having my picture taken.
Excellent points. I don't want my face on camera anyway, but using a flipping calendar or other graphics is a great idea.

Your advice is always sound! I know that I like things to be prompt and to the point. I often won't watch videos that I know are going to be long.

For me too much talking and not enough visual appeal. Now your videos I could watch anytime and not get bored.
Good afternoon Debb and Bernie - your points are well taken for sure. At least there was a little break up.

Hi Debb,
I think we're all on info overload these days, so short and sweet works for me. As for the talking head, I think the intro is fine. Beyond that he needs to just stick to the facts with graphics and let us move on.

Debb,
First thing I noticed is that his shirt blended into the background, and as a result he did also. So he was making up for it with a lot of gesticulations. Too long and too dull for me, and there was no call for action...A
Ron and Alexandra Seigel the missing "Call for Action" - yes, and thank you for pointing out that big mistake.
HI Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD -On a positive note, He does well with camera presence, sounds like a pro and has the confidence it takes.
Area for improvement...
If you are going to feature "market in a minute". The video should be a minute or less. But the video was 1 minute and 26 seconds long. He should cut 26 seconds. - I agree with Ron and Alexandra Seigel - His shirt does blend with the background. He should also have a call for action. It could be as simple as Give me a call if you are interested in listing or buying a Western Washington area property. I always include an outro with my phone and website info. This is something else Sean should add. Just my humble opinion.
Giving us the opportunity to analyze this video will help us with a critical eye for our own videos. Overall, I thought he did a pretty darn good job, and with

Debb,
Popping here to thank Sheri Sperry - MCNE® for the mention. We are all visually oriented, and the whole idea of a video is to stand out. A
It seems the visuals were pretty good, high-end photography, fades, graphics, etc.
I think we expect amazing things from videos nowadays. This may have worked for this agent. I am not sure how many views are the norm for this type of short message. It IS rather short and maybe he could dress up a bit or use a few different camera angles. I have seen people sitting in their chairs with medium angle views and if the content is interesting you may not mind the static nature of the video. People can be charismatic on camera or not. Those that are can get away with less finesse as their message tends to override graphic wizardry...

Hi Debb and Bernie- while it's better than many I've seen, it is still just ok. Honestly I'd rather read a market report. Let the video tease me enough that I'll got to his site to read it.

Debb & Bernie, I thought he did a pretty good job as you also said. So many of these go on and on and are of agents just talking. I want to get into video but, I'm a bit shy behind the camera. Plus, I don't want to be that agent who just talks into the camera.

I like your idea of a flipping calendar Debb and Bernie. You are the experts, and I'm learning from the two of you!
I thought overall it was good, to keep it shorter his intro could be a little shorter and then it doesn't need to go back to him, just feature the facts with a call to action at the end. But, he is doing it and whilst it may not be perfect he is getting views. Gary Vaynerchuck was not perfect when he started out and look where he is today.
Like blogging, the video better be worthwhile and before the red blinking light is turned on to capture the loop, what is the purpose, who will this help? Is there anything worthwhile in this quick snippet?
Too many "Hi.. this is Suzy Q or Jimbo telling you to list and sell, buy and trade with me blah blah". There is nothing beyond the look at me.. talking head for value. A buyer or seller is not getting anything from that use of video and the agent or broker looks like it was not thought out. Just a rushed, hurriedvideo done and uploaded which is not professional.
Video is the most powerful marketing weapon in the tool box IF used correctly Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD !

Debb, you are right, standing in front of a camera TALKING about the market doesn't do anything for me either.

Good morning Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD ,
I watched the video twice and I got antsy..I agree too much of Sean and definitely agreed with Ron and Alexandra Seigel about the shirt blending in the background and no call to action. It should have been 1 minute or less. I'll give him credit for getting out there and getting a video out..obviously many people viewed it..we can always strive to do a better job. Thank you for the constructive criticism on this video..helps us all.

You're welcome Dorie. S
Thank you for sharing this great information. We really enjoy the video ideas. I enjoyed his video and he is great at getting everything together.
Thanks for the great info. I'm working on getting my market reports into video too. I thought he did a great job of putting the information together for his market. I didn't get antsy, but I agree that a little less face time would have been good.

Hello Debb, I still have a long wait to go to get better and my videos. I keep learning berom you.
Good points Debb. Good that Sean is doing videos, that are just over a minute. I guess if I lived in the area I might have stronger staying power to watch.
Excellent point, Debb. Of course, I come from the school of thought that I don't ever want to be seen on a video... not even for a second!
