The Mushroom Capital of the World

When you visit the home of Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA, you are in mushroom country. During our recent visit, we enjoyed the outstanding mushroom soup that is always available at Longwood Gardens. Dolores surprised me with a beer selection that I had not previously tried. The Dogfish Head Liquid Truth Serum IPA was excellent and you should give it try if you like India Pale Ales. Drink responsibly. 7% Alc. by Vol.

Yes, Chef Dolores does have a favorite place in the area to shop for mushrooms. I have posted previous blogs about it. Click here for the details.

Kennett Square is a borough in Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is known as the Mushroom Capital of the World because mushroom farming in the region produces over a million pounds of mushrooms a year, totaling half of the United States mushroom crop. - Wikipedia

I had no idea you were dwelling in the midst of a mushroom metropolis, Roy.  You should take some pictures for us one day.  I love the name of that "Truth Serum" IPA, by the way!

I had no idea, Roy, about this being the mushroom capital... then again, I rarely eat them so don't pay much attention to where they might be coming from.
