AAAAhhhh Chooo...Allergy Season is Blooming Everywhere !

It is not your imagination if you are feeling greater allergy symptoms than you have in past years. Watery, itchy eyes, sneezing, stuffy nose...and oh those sinuses that make you want to take a can opener to the top of your head to relieve the pressure !

You may think that you are being polite by "stiffling" a sneeze...PLEASE do not....if you pinch your nose or close your mouth you can cause very serious damage...a ruptured blood vessel in your throat or ear drum...or the very worst...in the brain !

cat sneeze  Sneezing is the body's natural way of expelling an irritant...it's tissue season....sneeze away...don't repel...just expel. You may even notice that your pets are sneezing more often...Dini and Magic always have such a surprised look on their faces when they sneeze...not sure of what just happened.

Some research supports the "worst year ever for allergies" in many parts of the world. Some comedians are calling it the "Pollen tsunami" but if you are experiencing serious symptoms...oh that sinus headache...you aren't laughing in between nose blowing, coughing and sneezing.

According to Molekule, the top five worst states in the country for allergies are:  1) Texas 2)Louisiana 3)Pennsylvania 4) Ohio and 5) New York. If you are bothered more than usual by pollen this year...it is not your imagination...it is reality and you may wish to seek a doctor's advice and pay close attention to pollen counts and outdoor activities.

Enjoy the sunshine...beware of the pollen count...see your doctor if your symptoms persist and become worse.

I am surprised Missouri didn't make the top 5 for worst states for allergies. I am pretty sure we are experiencing a "Pollen Tsunami" here as well.  Best wishes to all the other allergy sufferers out there as well.

There have been times that I have had to sneeze at church and I try to hold it in so that I don't splash those around me or even worse, have God strike me down for disrupting Mass, haha.

Hi Sally... thankfully, I only suffer briefly each year in late April/early May from allergies to a specific pollen here in Charlotte. Once that's over... I'm good for another year.

Hi Sally K. & David L. Hanson  - Sedona went through this back in February-March.  It seemed like forever before it subsided.  All our junipers were blowing pollen everywhere.

Hi Sally and David- I only wish that all I did was sneeze and have a runny nose!!!  I do remember seeing pollen covering everything earlier in the year. Did not know that about stifling a sneeze, though.

Thankfully I don't suffer from allergies, although I did as a kid. But I have family members and friends who often are miserable.

No fun if you have to avoid nature! Pollen doesn't get after me, but if someone walks into a room wearing heavy perfume, I leave as quickly as possible. Chemicals in general are what affect me.Good thing I live in the woods!

My eyes have been irritated, perhaps pollen/allergens are why. I'm not surprised NY is high on the list!

Physically I'm not really bothered by it, except for more sneezing lately... but the pollen is everywhere....all over my furniture if I leave the windows open.
