You know the do not call list doesn't really help. Not terribly long ago I actually clicked to talk to a human about "your Google business listing is not up to date" just to ask them to stop calling me. It actually slowed the calls down for a few days. When a consumer asks me to stop calling or emailing (opts out) I do stop. Why the hell can't the stupid telemarketers do the same?
Today I had a little free time on my hands and decided to TELL them to stop calling again to see if they would stop. Well boy oh boy did I get a jackass this time. When I said, "Sir, my google listing is fine, I do really well with it and it gets lots of views and a great click through rate to my web site, I don't need your help and you're not with Google, they don't call people so please respect that I am on the do not call list and stop calling me." He responded with "but there is a problem with your listing" I responded... "no there is not, please stop" and was interrupted with "if you are not going to be responsive to my trying to fix your listing why would I be responsive to your stop calling request?" WTAF?
He literally tried to argue with me and frankly I just lost it and called him a jackass before I hung up on him. But, I also took the time to go back and check my caller ID which holds 200 calls which made it about a week on my phone and found the 9 previous calls and documented the time of each and went to donotcall.gov and reported them for all 10 phone calls in the last week and will certainly report any future calls from them. I've had it up to here!
Now I'm going to get back to real estate. Hopefully they won't call again today because the person on the other end is going to get an earful again.
