Pondering Kindness Without Borders
I truly believe kindness is important..and its' value is often overlooked.
A big thank you to Michael today for re-introducing me to the words and wisdom of Daniel Lubetsky.
I especially appreciated this quote:
It takes strength to be kind. It's not a weakness.
We all have a responsibility to make this world better,
whether it's through our work, the causes we champion, the way we treat people,
or the values we impart to the next generation.

While looking at some quotes recently for an ActiveRain post I found this author. The name Daniel Lubetzky was not immediately familiar to me but further investigation has shown him to be a person who has a message I find quite interesting. Combining entrepreneurship, philanthropy, kindness and more is something that I find intriguing. Admirable too. To say the very least. I was reminded of a challenge by Carol Williams in December 2018 that coincidentally seem to align with my blogging return to ActiveRain after a posting respite of sorts.
Her challenge of finding a quote "that inspires you" led me to the well-known words about the importance of kindness. But you know kindness matters not just for a challenge. Or an event/a certain time. It's really about more than that. Initially this has lead me to finding other words by Mr. Lubetzky and some additional research. And how kindness is not just a part of his business but his life. I continue learning more about him. And in that process I am learning more about myself. It's ongoing. Like all thihgs that change and evolve.
We need to understand the other side to impact the other side.
We become much more effective when we engage in hearty conversations with those who are different from us, not necessarily to change our opinions
but to build the emphathy muscle.

When you are bringing an idea to fruiition, there are two distinct phases:
the skeptic phase and the evangelical phase.
During the first phase, you have to be able to ask the most difficult questions -
is this idea worth pursuing?
But once you are convinced, you flip a switch. It's about getting it done.

I am still learning. And I am sure you are as well. Thankfully.
