Here’s the Most Recent Carlsbad Art Wall Mural
June 2019
The newest Carlsbad Art Wall (CAW) was painted this past weekend, June 15 and 16 by Carlsbad artist, and founder of the CAW in 2015, Bryan Snyder.
Be sure to check out his Instagram page.
@ToBeByTheSea and @Gentle_Giant_Illustrations assisted Bryan Snyder with his creation.
The mural was influenced by the Colors of Carlsbad, a partnership for the second year between Visit Carlsbad and the Pantone Color Institute, along with the marketing platform Fohr. The themes depicted in the mural beautifully reflect the Carlsbad lifestyle and our reputation as a travel destination.
The 2019 Colors of Travel Study (links to a description of the study including influencer selection, etc.) resulted in 4 trending colors found most often in travel-related photos on social media sites of major travel content creators/influencers (75 were selected from those with more than 50,000 followers on Instagram).
Fohr’s analysis identified 4 Pantone colors for 2019 - PANTONE 16-1522 Rose Dawn; PANTONE 15-4323 Ethereal Blue; PANTONE 19-4535 Ocean Depths; and PANTONE 16-0948 Harvest Gold.
This public art project is in cooperation with Senor Grubby’s, a well-known Mexican Restaurant in Carlsbad Village, and the collection of murals over the years has been impressive.
No doubt you have driven by if you live in the area or have visited Carlsbad. Even if you don’t know the official #CarlsbadArtWall name you no doubt have noticed the changing murals on the east-facing wall on Carlsbad Village Drive, just west of the train tracks and easily seen as you head toward the beach.
Carlsbad is known as a growing and changing arts community, with abundant public art (an interactive map). The Carlsbad Art Wall really is a wonderful addition to our expanding and ever-changing arts community, with a new installation several times per year!
Here are some recent Carlsbad Art Wall murals I have enjoyed:
Carlsbad Art Wall January 2019
Carlsbad Art Wall October 2018
Each new wall mural is always a pleasure to view, and it’s common to see locals and visitors hanging out to watch artists at work on their creations.
The #CarlsbadArtWall is a wonderful opportunity for talented artists to showcase their creativity for visitors and residents to enjoy for a few months, and a special addition to our Village by the Sea!
