Stuck in Chicago

By

Sorry no post, except for this one blimp today.  Mother Nature, in her fury came a calling yesterday, right in the pathway to keep me from getting home.

I did make it to Chicago from Cary NC.  Our flight was delayed then delayed again.  Of course that caused a ripple effect which caused my connecting flight home to be delayed.  Trouble was the ship to fly me home came in around midnight with an exhausted crew.

The airport provides cots for just that sort of thing.  I found me one and was out in 2 minutes if that.  Three hours later the clean up crew came a calling.  Today, is going to be a very long day.

I'll great it as I do every day, with a smile on my face.

Good morning James. Should have called. I would have provided an adult libation and something better than a cot! Hope today is much better!

It's a good thing you had a cot if you were at Ohare. The hotel there is pricey.

James,

Oh my goodness.  When that happened to us in Oakland from Charlotte, Southwest put us up in the hotel nearby and gave us a dinner allowance...and the next morning they flew us to Los Angeles...A

If I were stuck in Chicago for the evening, I would certainly call up my buddy Wayne Martin and take him up on the adult libation and something more comfortable than a cot.  I hope that your travels are safe!

Hello James - I recall a flight delay out of O'Hare some time ago but no cots just lounging around for a few hours before a well-rested crew could arrive. Have a safe fight. It's good to keep that positive attitude.

That's a great attitude to have during something you can't control James. Hopefully you'll be "wheels-up" before you know it!

James Dray, good news that you at least got a cot...and a food voucher, I hope?
My late husband was an employee of both United and American airlines in his
career.  Our family flew cheap-fare 'stand-by' hundreds of times - (11 of us) -through the years.   Yes, quite familiar with cots and airport chairs and delays:)
