Happy Summer 2019 in Carlsbad
Today is the 1st day of summer. Hard to believe it's the longest day already (yeah, and then we go the other direction!) and July 4th is just around the corner.
There are lots of flowers out and I enjoyed my walk in the neighborhood.
If you need things to do in Carlsbad this weekend, besides going to the beach or dining at your favorite restaurant (have you been to Jeune et Jolie yet? It's getting quite the rep!), consider the California Wine Festival at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in South Carlsbad. It's tonight and tomorrow and you can purchase tickets online.
Tonight is also the first of the annual TGIF Concerts in the Parks, one of Carlsbad's favorite summer activities...a 9-concert series in 4 of our most beautiful community parks. Tonight's concert features Safety Orange (surf rock) and takes place at Stagecoach Park near La Costa in South Carlsbad.
We've had quite a bit of June Gloom with the sun peeking through every now and then, but some days not at all. We even had rain last night and now there is a little blue sky so perhaps the day will be a nice one. But I'm ready for the gloom to move along and have more consistent, and warmer, sunny days now that summer is here.
Schools are out and we are seeing more people out and about in the Village and at the beach, and more visitors. That means more limited parking (it's still FREE in Carlsbad) in the Village and at the beach, and longer lines and waits for dinner especially on the weekends - make those reservations!
Stay tuned for more summer happenings here in Carlsbad Village by the Sea, plus some updates on new housing.
