Maybe you are thinking of relocating to the this beautiful part of Southwest Colorado and you are an avid Golfer.
The City of Montrose has 3 golf courses located within its boun
There is the Black Canyon this course is owned and operated by the City of Montrose. The 2 nines are very different from each other. The front nine was built in the 1960's and is your basic straight up and down fairways, very park like with little in the way of sand traps or water. The fairways are lined with mature trees. The back nine was built in the early 1990's and is more like a course you would see today.
Homes do line the outside boundaries of the back nine but not really to the point where you have to be concerned about hitting them except fairway 17.. Generally speaking homes do come up for sale once in awhile that back up to the course, but they do not require any kind of membership
Green Fees are very affordable weekdays you can play 18 holes for $30, on the weeken $40 cart not included. There is a nice south facing patio at the clubhouse that includes a snack bar . The course for the most part is well maintained.
Definitely worth playing, can be busy on the weekends.
This course is privately owned but open to the Public. It is located on the Southwest corner of Montrose on the west side of the river. Construction of the first nine holes was in 1999 with the second nine holes added in 2002/03 There are over 250 homes located around this course and more being built all the time.
Re Sale home prices range from the mid 300's to around $700,000. Most brand new homes under construction are custom built and not for sale, although there are 1 or 2 spec homes for sale at any given time. Would you like to know what homes are currently for sale in Cobble Creek or any other Golf community around Montrose, contact me for the up to date list of homes available
Cobble Creek has a very active social group with many events palnned throughout the year. You do not have to be a Golf Member but many homes require you to be a member of the social group for a monthly fee. Before checking in CC check to see if the house you are interested in has a requirement to belong to the socail group.
Green Fees with a cart are around $60 give or take a few dollars depending on whether it is a weekday or weekend
This course was built in 2004/05 and is a Nicklaus design course, which means Jack's company designed the course but not Jack himself. Of the 3 courses in Montrose this one is the most challenging, with many sand traps and carries over waste areas. The clubhouse is probably one of the best in the entire State. It has an awesome restaurant which like the course is open to the public. The views from inside the restaurant or sitting on the patio are outstanding
Currently there are about 80 homes around the golf course with plenty of more to be built over time. Price range for these homes will range from $400,000 to $800,000 again if you would like to know what is available for sale contact me. Green fees here range from mid $50's to mid 80's depanding on the time of year. Th eBridges is close to the Montrose Rec Center and many shops and restaurants. Like Cobble Creek it has a socail membership contact me for details.
So if you are looking to relocate to Montrose and you love golf and socializing Cobble Creek or the Bridges could be for you.
