A Fruitful Patchwork Quilt at the Farmers Market in Carlsbad

Berry display at the State Street Farmers Market in Carlsbad Village

We were at the Carlsbad Village Farmers Market (held every Wednesday in the heart of the Village) today to buy provisions for dinner and the rest of the week.

For some reason the colorful produce, flowers, and prepared foods seemed especially bright today...perhaps because we have had such June gloomy weather for quite some time, and this afternoon was sunny with blue skies.

It made everything brighter, including this berry display, which reminded me of a patchwork quilt. They were hard to resist...but price being price, we found some other berries that were equally beautiful, just not displayed so creatively! Price won over.

Hi Jeff Dowler, CRS - What a great display. That farmer knows how to sell his wares. I am glad the sun came out for you. I never liked the "June Gloom". But as soon as the sun came out, so did the heat. Of course, it is not like that at the ocean in Carlsbad.
