Homeownership Is Still The American Dream

National Homeownership Month 2019 might be ending in a few days, but that doesn't mean that your American Dream of Homeownership needs to end with the month. Did you know that when asked how important homeownership is in achieving the American Dream, 93% of people surveyed said it is somewhat important to very important, if not the most important part of the American Dream. Breaking down the responses, we see that:

  • 18% of those surveyed said it was the most important part
  • 53% of those surveyed said it was very important
  • 22% of those surveyed said it was somewhat important

 

As we approach the end of June and the end of our annual National Homeownership Month, it's worth pointing out that a recent survery of renters showed that 46% are determined to own their own home at some point and 53% responded that owning a home fulfills the American Dream. The video below provides additional reasons that renters say homeownership is a major life goal for them.
