If you live in...or are planning to visit southeastern Wisconsin..your trip would not be complete without visiting Wine Maniacs for an experience you will not soon forget...AND will want to repeat...again and again! The wine bar/restaurant is located at :W359N5002 Brown St #105, Oconomowoc, WI 53066 easy to find and you will be sooooo glad you did !
Jeff Cox,"Head Wine Guy" is the owner and wine expert will both school you in the many details of what seem to be endless selections of wine (ok...hundreds) he will also tantalize your taste buds with unique items that offer the "perfect pairing" you could never have imagined. Jeff thinks. as we do, that people take wine much tooo seriously... “People tend to take the wine experience far too seriously. After all the first wine was just grape juice someone left out too long”.
Jeff won't be hard to spot...he is one visiting every table, greeting guests offering wine history and making suggestions amid the patrons...inside or as weather permits..."Al Fresco" enjoying lake country breezes.
The whole dining experience at Wine Maniacs is unique...it gives a new meaning to "farm to table" ...both in menu items and the choices of unique wines from vineyards around the world. The fresh herbs you will as ingredients and garnishes are grown right outside the restaurant under the fountain....from basil to lemon mint...the breezes gently tempt your appetite even before you enter the Bistro.
There is never a shortage of "Special Events" at Wine Maniacs...every dinner is special...AND if you choose to become a member of the Cool Kid Wine Club...the specials abound even further ! We are members and every month get three bottles that are offered in the special menu pairings from around the world. We bring guests whenever we go...who also enjoy the perks of this membership which also include invitations to special events with limited seating. Find all the details and fabulous bonus in being a member of this unque group clicking here.
We have promised Jeff that we will do features on Wine Maniacs with Cool Kid monthly featured pairings and special events. This post features the pairings offered to Cool Kid members in July....
You will note that both the menu and wine offerings are unique....and we promise you will not be disappointed.
Jamie, one of our favorite staff members, has promised she will faithfully get us pictures of the pairings every month along with the menu so that we can share them with you. If you are lucky enough to live in southeastern Wisconsin ...you can share them with your tastebuds as well !
Here is the first course....We bet you will find yourself saying "who knew...." a lot as we do...mmmm...blackberries and feta, a taste treat we bet you have not had before...and pickled onions....mmmmmm. The pairing with Jeff's choice of Atance Bobal really does pop the salad flavors.
On to the second course...Italian beef unlike any you have had with the freshly made house garnish of giardiniera...and no Italian beef would be complete without fresh provolone but of course...from Wisconsin. The Sheep's clothes Cabernet pairing was not baaaad...in fact...VERY good !
The third course for seafood lovers ...perfectly seasoned clams with garlic and yes...but of course homemade fettuccini...once you have had this home made pasta...you will never be satisfied with less ! Complimented by a creamy wine from the west coast of Italy...Tenuta Meraviglia Vermentino...has a place in our wine rack as one of the benefits of Cool Kid Membership...it won't be there long !
You can make reservations at Wine Maniacs on line to assure your table will be waiting...just click here...for a reservation using Open Table.
Come and enjoy a special evening...bring your friends...it's always a celebration of great taste and superior wine complimented by unrivaled service...you deserve that ...Enjoy !#winebarlakecountrywisconsin#winepairings#winemaniacs
