There are endless possibilities in branding, and endless solutions.  What is required in creating a brand is a willingness to understand the concept as well as the realization that solutions and ideas abound.  The world is awash with solutions and possibilites.

In order to understand branding in the realm of luxury or any other form of real estate marketing, it is important to understand brand categories. If market leadership is your quest, the key is to select a brand category or sub-category in your marketplace that you can dominate.

Here is a simple illustration of brand categories.  Pictured above is 6 types of organic potatoes.  There are 4000 types of potatoes in the world, and 180 known wild potato species.  Each potato variety has categories within it based on size, color and taste.

Buying from or listing with a dedicated specialist gives your client confidence, that they are dealing with an expert. Branding therefore, accelerates the selection process in a sea of choices, and saves time for everyone.

Hi Ron and Alexandra- a person could get lost in a sea of potatoes, homes, agents or whatever it is you're looking for.  Making yourself standout is what your brand should do.

I would love to return to Peru sometime, Alexandra. I was smitten, to put it mildly. Our guide was one of the reasons--he had the ability to pass on his passion for his country, its people, its history and its culture to us. And of course the hiking and the mountains! He and his wife teach Spanish immersion classes at their home in Cusco--how's that for a dream? Ron and Alexandra Seigel

Morning Alexandra.

Your point has my mind racing this morning.  So many ways that this could go, like Michael Jacobs, it has me pondering

Spuds or potatoes - following Michael Jacobs train of thoughts. :)   Great photo and this is a a great way to make your point. By the way, Bernie planted Hawaiian purple potatoes in our garden this year. Good for carb sensitive folks. ;)

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD I am looking forward to tasting those Hawaiian purple potatoes...We had a famous jeans designer who listed a building with us.  He told us tales of his mother who loved purple and she would even add purple to the mashed potatoes...A

James Dray as I was walking Quincy cat this morning, I started thinking about all the different wine grapes I have tasted and how each differs, and I did get in a rabbit hole (loved it) on the subject thanks to Michael Jacobs comment...Happy Wednesday.  A

Hello, Ron and Alexandra Seigel. This is a very creative way of describing branding. We need to establish or choose our own potato type to stand out in the world of potatoes. Great image btw.

Whatever potatoes I might decide to plant - the underground critters will get them before I do. I gave up!

Meanwhile, your point is well taken.

My potato is green!  Seriously, great post and thoughts on buying from a specialist. A client called today who had purchased a 1948 adobe home from me. Wish she had called me before adding solar to her home because the payment is $150 and her electric bill was $171.  A $21 savings that will take 25 years go pay off!

Jan Green speaking of potatoes, green is wonderful.  I once was in a lovely adobe home in your area, where the walls were so thick that the place stayed cool in the summer... A

Definitely sounds like a straw bale home!  But we've recently seen SireWall build 2 custom homes here.  They're from Canada and built combo Structurally Insulated Rammed Earth and the walls are definitely that thick.  So cool to see an earthen wavey pattern to the walls.  It's mold resistant, termite resistant and absorbs and eliminates odors.  Very cool, literally! https://sirewall.com/

We seem to have found our best real estate photographers yet, and are consistently happy with the end product.  They do offer your branding on these as well, so we are at least covered at that front.

Jan Green it was definitely an adobe home.  I have been in strawbale homes in Napa, as well as the Rammed Earth one in Sonoma.  There was also one in Sonoma made with styrofoam..a beautiful luxury home.  A
