Do you ever feel that your walls absorb too much moisture? If you start feeling the dampness in your room, it perhaps be a sign of water leakage. Water seeps in through the concrete over the period of time. It is not something that takes place overnight; in fact, it may take months or even years to develop. The pace basically depends on the level of moisture your walls are being exposed to. And the signs of water seepage do not appear suddenly.

As a matter of fact, many people do not even notice it in the initial phase, unless they look around carefully. Oftentimes, there will not be any signs of wetness. You would only be left staring at a white powdery substance. This powder is nothing much but a discharge occurred due to some sort of internal water damage. This is a choric issue that would completely ruin the strength of your walls and may also weaken the foundations of your house. Hence, a wet room is a crucial sign that indicates that your home’s structure is in danger.

Wet rooms leads to the easy and quick crumbling of the walls. They are even more dangerous if the room you are talking about is in the basement. The basement serves as a support to the entire home’s structure. And if the walls of your basement are wet and damp, they may result in creases and cracks along the walls. Homeowners generally notice grave implications of living in a house with wet rooms. On the other hand, there are some quick reasons that would want you to work on repairing wet room showers for the faulty drainage system or any hidden leakages.

You need to understand the fact that wet rooms generally host more microbes and also facilitate the growth of mold and fungus. You may not notice such growth in your wet rooms quickly but they would keep on contaminating the atmosphere of your room, and your house, on the whole. This can further lead to allergic reactions and other crucial illnesses such as cough, cold, etc. Children are more prone to catching these infections as they have inherently low resistance levels. Wet rooms are a lot more common in places where there is frequent snowfall or rainfall. And rooms that hardly get any sunlight to become easy prey of chronic water seepage.

Wetness and dampness are greatest cause of long term damage to you home and its structural integrity, an infrared camera can detect all that before a lot of damage could occur. Most whole house inspectors have it.
