I was AWL from AR for a couple of days but for good reason... we got the little Scamp camper out for it's maiden voyage of 2019.
We did not get the site I like the most but I felt really lucky to get a spot at all being it was the 4th of July weekend. That being said about half of the reserved sites didn't even show up... which was also nice. The lake was ruff with a strong wind out of the SE but we don't boat or fish so it didn't detract from our fun at all.
A shout out to the North Dakota State Park people who keep the parks clean and orderly. They do a GREAT job. Here are a few pictures.
Very little of the shore line is developed as Lake Sakakawea & Audubon are both man made lakes and the corp of engineers owns the land around the lakes. Because of this there is a lot of wildlife. I had to take this picture of a Wildrose for my friend Roy Kelley .
On the 2nd day I had a hard time finding my swim trunks...
and it had nothing to do with drinking to much Bacardi
Actually I did have two beers but that was way before I lost my shorts. BTW do you see them in the picture?
