As some of you know, I was looking for this month's contests, and am happy to have found this one. Can you write about 10 things that changed for you in the past decade?

So to AciveRain-Thank you for the new contest-and the opportunity to look both back for 10 years, and forward as to how one will use this post for future business.

What a Difference a Decade Makes

A Challenge for You in July!

the number 10Your challenge, should you decide to accept it and want to earn some additional points, is to reflect on what’s happened in your life in the last decade, business-wise and personally, and share AT LEAST 10 things that have happened or changed.

And I betcha when you start reflecting back on the last decade you’ll think of all sorts of changes, some significant, that you forgot about.

Some changes may have just happened, as they tend to do, while others were made deliberately.

Me and my first grandaughter - barely 2 weeks oldNo doubt you’ve experienced both positive and negative changes in your personal life, as we all have – births, deaths, graduations, weddings, illnesses, a new pet or maybe the loss of a beloved one, the vacation of a lifetime, major or minor household moves, the list goes on.

Business-wise maybe you were just getting starting as a Realtor, or began blogging during this time, or wrote a particularly memorable and impactful post that changed your business or still is affecting it!

Did you move to a new brokerage or start one? You get the idea – it’s an open book!

You might consider sharing comparisons of your real estate market from 10 years ago versus today – shifts in inventory looking back, past and current average sales prices, or other interesting real estate changes or statistics.

If you’re in the mortgage business no doubt you’ve seen plenty of changes that are noteworthy and worth sharing, especially when you consider what was happening during the recession compared to now. I bet staging professionals have seen lots of changes, too – new color and accessory trends perhaps, the growth of virtual staging, and more.

No matter what area of the real estate business you are in, there are bound to be some business changes over the last 10 years!

Let us know how these changes affected you. How did you feel, or respond when these changes happened? Was this change something you could have prevented or did you make it happen? Was it expected or a shock? Did you learn anything you want to share? Is the jury still out on the impact?

RULES:

Of course we need some rules, so in order to receive your 1000 points please do the following:

1. Share at least 10 changes, and these must include both personal and real-estate related shifts (specific to your role in the business) – feel free to share more than 10 (limiting it to 10 might be hard – just pick the most significant things) if you want, as we will all enjoy reading about what you  have to say. Sorry, no extra points for more than 10 changes, but look for the bonus below.

2. Post a working link to your creation in the comment section below. Please check your link to make sure it works so readers won’t miss out on your masterpiece.

3. An ORIGINAL photo or video relevant to the overall topic or a specific change you shared must be included…more if you are inspired and really want to wow your readers.

4. Your post must be at least 250 words (no, we won’t count) which should be easy. Once you get started reflecting on 10 years of personal and business life I bet the words will flow effortlessly!

BONUS POST:

You can earn an additional 500 points by writing a second post of at least 250 words, and let us know how you could, or will, use the post you wrote in your business. Please be specific about your plans.

Will you share it with your sphere?

Will it inspire creating market reports for past clients?

Will any of the changes inspire a blog post or two?

And if you really want to impress your AR friends, and there’s time, put your plan into action and report back about what you actually did and the response you got.

DUE DATE:

The Challenge begins TODAY, July 1st, and your article, including the bonus post if done, must be posted no later than 11:59 PM Pacific Daylight Saving Time on July 31st.

A reminder - please post a comment with a link to your post in the comment section below. If you complete the bonus, you must also include a link to that as well (it can be in the same comment or a separate one).

Good luck, be creative, and have some fun with your reflections. I bet lots of Rainers will be interested in what you have to share!

Morning Michelle.

I follow Jeff so I knew of this one.  So, are you going to write a blog for the challenge?
