Taste of Summer Rancho Mirage
Taste of Summer Rancho Mirage begins tomorrow in Rancho Mirage, California- near Palm Springs! Sponsored by the City of Rancho Mirage this event features 30 local restaurants. Wristbands are $10 and the participating restuaruants will have $4 Drink specials, $4 Appetizers, and $4 Desserts.
Some of my favorite restaurants in the valley are participating including Si Bon, famous for it's Belgian Cuisine including a Lobster Taco made with a savory waffle!
Another favorite is Norma's Italian Kitchen. A true Mom and Pop Italian place that has a strong local following.
Another favorite of mine that is participating in Taste of Summer Rancho Mirage is a locally owned business- Brandini Toffee. It began with two high school kids making toffee to raise money for a trip to Italy. They began selling toffee from a family recipe and it was in such demand that they started a small business. It has grown into a thriving huge business! Founded in the Palm Springs area, Brandini Toffee is enjoyed by chocolate-lovers and toffee aficionados around the world. The family owned business as been a featured favorite on Oprah Winfrey's O List, The Martha Stewart Show, The Food Network, and has even been served to the President! It is featured for sale at our local Costco and it makes a perfect gift to give it to friends and family visiting so they can take home a sweet treat from the Coachella Valley. The recipe has led to three Brandini Store Locations, a fast growing wholesale segment, and ships world wide! Pretty good for a couple of local kids!
