When Tenants Complain

“A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes."   ~ Mark Twain

As a business owner, I'm always conscious of my reputation. This is particularly important because I'm in a small town with a population of 9,500 and it wouldn't take much to knock our business off track.

We don't get many people talking negatively about us. When we do, it's usually because they're bad apples. They complain about us after they've failed to meet our application requirements or because they were evicted for not paying rent.

This is one of those cases. The Tenant occupied this dump for over 15 years. I helped someone buy the property nine months ago and now he's trying to renovate it and place quality tenants. The Tenant claims we're the worst...but only because we won't let her continue to live in this dump.

We can't win them all. Enjoy!

Good morning, Nathan Gesner you have a tough job...of all the phases of real estate, property management is the toughest.... I managed 23 units of my own and that was when tenants had little control!!!! now, there are laws.... you can't take off the doors without penalty...LOL

Nathan Gesner - I don't envy you. I did it once and that was enough to know what the tenant gets when they move in and what you get when they move out is not the same. I was lucky in that I made the discovery after the second rent was due and they left in the middle of the night.
