There have been countless of discussions about listening to our clients in real estate and other professions.  Listening is a valuable skill, however, listening without judgment is the ultimate skill in our opinion.

 

Understanding does not mean agreeing with another person's point of view by any means.  It is about hearing what that person's point of view without passing it through your own filters of opinion.  It takes practice to do that.  This leads us to realize how biased we all are by virtue of our experiences and education.

 

Listening without judgment opens the door for the truth to manifest, which creates understanding. We both realize this on a daily basis as we practice mindfulness in listening and in our actions.  And we often, think of Rumi's quote...

Out beyond ideas of wrong doing

and right doing there is a field.

I’ll meet you there.

 

The gift of understanding is not just for others, it is also one you can give yourself.  We promise it will open up doors in your life and in your heart!

So very true.  Listening without working to form your response before someone is finished speaking is commonplace.  The art of true listening is challenging.  Thanks for this great reminder to be more mindful.  That's hard to do in sales when it's so easy to be focused on our next response!

Listening without judgment is definitely the way to go!  I feel that I am not a judgemental person at all, yet I find myself internally always judging, haha.  It is one of the attributes that I always try to work the hardest on trying not to do.
