Social media is something we should all be familiar with by now, right? Yet some real estate agents still struggle with converting Facebook leads into real estate clients. Perhaps, they are making one of these 5 mistakes..
Here are 4 Mistakes Real Estate Agents Should Avoid on Facebook:
1. Not Understanding Your Audience
Know who your audience is. What interests them? When are they awake? When are they online? What type of content appeals to them? Knowing this information is crucial, and if you don't know -- ASK THEM! A post asking a question can serve as highly engaging content, and also good market research.
2. Thinking of Your Page as an Advertising Platform
While it is true that Facebook is an advertising platform, that is not all that it is. Facebook users are real life people. When speaking to people in real life, you don't show them your listing inventory upon first meeting them. You get to know your audience first. A page that is nothing but advertising your business is a great way to scare off people who are "just looking", and have them sign up with a competitor when they are ready to transact.
3. Forgetting About Video Content
Social media is a very visual medium, and currently video is the best type of content to stop a user's scroll. Listing videos, Q&A videos, just for fun videos are great ways to build your reptutation online.
4. Not Having a Content Plan
It's perfectly okay to post when you are most excited - but what about those Mondays when work piles up on you and you don't have time to interact with your audience? Setting aside 30 minutes a month to plan the next month's posting schedule is the second best way to save time. (The first best way is using a free auto-posting service)
