Try Hunan food - one of the hottest cuisines in the East Bay - Easterly
As soon as you enter this 2 1/2 old restaurant in Berkeley, you'll immediately be smelling the sharp scents of stinky tofu, smoked pork, dried red chiles, and a buzz full of college students. You have to come early though, as what I have heard, they have long waiting lines on the weekends. Easterly Berkeley specialize in Hunan cuisine, which is now in high demand in the East Bay. If you love spicy food, it should come to no surprise that most dishes at Easterly are spicy or incorporate chile peppers at some point.
Some of their dishes include: pork with fresh green peppers, fried lamb chops, fried stinky tofu, stir-fried smoked pork with dried radish, sticky rice with pork ribs, they even serve pumpkin pie for desert.
