Aurora Reservoir is located in Southeastern Aurora and is a popular place especially on hot days or the weekends. You will find Aurora Reservoir two miles East of E470 off Quincy. You will find 800 acres of water surface to enjoy.
Westword named Aurora Reservoir "The Best Park for Fishing" in 2012, and remains a popular area for outdoor water activities. The reservoir is also a water storage facility for Aurora's drinking water. You will have many options for outdoor activities at the reservoir -

When there are fishing tournaments scheduled or special events, there will be a link on the City's web site under Aurora Reservoir. Looking for a location for a family reunion or a large picnic? They have rental picnic facilities - 2 large shelters, 4 small shelters and one plaza gazebo. You can make reservations and get more information for any of these facilities here. There are seven facilities to reserve, make them early, so you don't miss out.
Need to know the rules before heading out? Craft beer and wine are allowed (no glass containers), dogs must be on a 10' leash at all times, gas motors are prohibited, swimming in designated areas only. To see ALL the rules - click on the link. Gas motors are prohibited, only electric trolling motors allowed, and no portable gas tanks. All bait types can be used, but you must have a valid receipt not more than 7 days old for live aquatic bait. Charcoal & gas grills are allowed, but may not be used on sand beaches or native grass areas. Grills must be located behind the white fence line that marks the beach boundaries. No camping or overnight use allowed.
