Butter Pecan, Mint Chip, Salted Caramel, Bailey's Irish Cream, Coffee Oreo, Key Lime Pie, Coconut Chunk, Cheesecake, Honey Graham ... which flavor is your favorite? All of the above? I hear you!
My daughter and I did some shopping along Main Street Ellicott City last weekend and had to stop at the Park Ridge Creamery ... it was an ice cream for lunch-kinda day and the Park Ridge Creamery has simply the best! They are the new kids on the block but already a crowd favorite for so many reasons. First of all, it's in the name.. their ice cream is one of the creamiest we've ever had. It's small batch (featuring Baltimore's Taharka Brother's premium ice cream), hand-scooped ice-cream perfection. Seriously. My daughters and I are ice cream and frozen yoghurt connoisseurs (yes, that's a thing) and we are frequently out and about MoCo and HoCo to sample the best.
Then there is the location and setting. The Park Ridge Creamery is in a great location - just off Ellicott City's historic Main Street, next to the Little Market Cafe - and there's a courtyard-style area to actually sit down and enjoy your ice cream, slowing down life for just a moment. I much prefer such a setting over strip mall parking lot 'ambience' - wouldn't you agree? The ice cream is served out of an historic stone building and the whole setting is reminiscent of a different tyme, with a vintage vibe which is right up my alley.
Service is wonderful. The people are friendly. Sampling and taste testing is not an issue... just in case you needed any more reasons to stop by Park Ridge Creamery next time you are in Ellicott City. Or better yet, plan a visit to Main Street because of the Park Ridge Creamery! July is national ice cream month after all! Follow their Facebook page for hours, special announcements and events.
