IGet me out of here! had a nice chat with a potential patio home buyer today.  He's found one of our posts about a specific area patio home community.

We talked about why there's a limited number of patio homes for sale, the typical prices for that community, and other area patio home communities that might be a good fit.

And just like any conversation, there are a few pieces of information I'd like to collect:

Name (of course!)

Phone number (you called me, so I'll add you to the contact list on my phone)

An email for unobtrusive contact and the buyer or seller can review at their leisure

 

It's that last piece of information that can make some buyers and sellers a bit nervous.  They've given out their email in the past and gotten the dreaded email tsunami.  Email after email with information they had no desire to receive.  Or home for sale after home for sale, none of them really close to anything they're interested in. 

So do they trust me today?

Here's what any home buyer or seller should know.

We DO NOT give their email to any other company without express permission.  No mortgage pro is going to contact you.  No insurance salesman.  No security system company.  NO ONE.

If you WANT us to put someone in contact with you, we will.

We don't send you a steady stream of How To emails either.  If you're a patio home buyer, this isn't your first rodeo.  You probably already know the basics, so why should I send you information tailored to beginning home buyers?

No, our emails are going to be custom fit for you.  I'll ask you what you want and keep it to that.  Specific homes or community information that fits what you told me you need.  If your needs change, we'll adjust.

And since we're working with homes that are scarce, that means the emails will be infrequent, so no email tsunami will come your way!

It's what it feels like sometimes.  Liz and I share an email for business, so everyone that gets the agent roster mails both of us, so we get a twofer for every solicitation.

I love the term "email tsunami".  There are certain vendors that we do not give out our email address to, as they distribute them to their subsidiaries and other companies.  Your email policy is the same as ours.  A
