Can't keep your household plants alive? Here are some plants requiring little water and are good options for plants that require little care.

Every plant is different, as is every human that took the challenge to keep it alive! Depending upon the size and genre of plant, home conditions and time of year, their needs can vary a little - or significantly. Get to know your plant and watch for the signs.

Here are a few common household plants that those who struggle to keep plants alive have had success with in their homes:

 Houseplants

  1. Ponytail Palms
  2. Rubber Plants
  3. Snake Plants
  4. Aquatic Plants (Anubias)
  5. Spider Plant
  6. Succulents
  7. ZZ Plant
  8. Cast Iron Plant
  9. Umbrella Plants (Schefflera)

Indoor plants not only help the overall atmosphere of the house, helping provide a healthy environment but, they are also therapeutic for those who tend to them.  Plants naturally purify and filter the air in your home and they provide oxygen as well.  Plants are satisfying to the eye and bring a calmness to your home.

Hi Debe,  Thanks for the tips on easy to care for plants.  We have some very nice houseplants, but can always use some more easy care ones.

But when I water them too much, will they still be ok? I'm really really bad with plants.

Debe Maxwell, CRS - These household plants would make great Office Plants too! Plus they make the office look dressed up with a calming presence for those who work there, clients, customers, and visitors. Mother-in-Law Tongue in your first photo is practically indestructible.
